It can carry a payload of up to 17,200 pounds (7,800 kilograms) into a sun-synchronous orbit or 26,450 pounds (12,000 kilograms) into low Earth orbit.
Beijing CAS Space vice president Shi Xiaoning provided information about the rocket’s capabilities. It has a payload capacity of around eight tonnes and was built quickly.
