Delhi Records First Dengue Death in 2021

In Delhi, the primary demise on account of dengue in 2021 has been reported. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) report says that total 720 dengue circumstances have been reported thus far this 12 months.

October has seen a sudden spike in dengue circumstances as a total of 382 circumstances have been reported within the month until October 16. As per the report, total 142 circumstances of malaria and 69 circumstances of chikunguniya have additionally been reported thus far this 12 months. However, no demise has been reported from malaria and chikungunya but, the report added.

‘The national capital had reported 217 cases of dengue in September which is the highest for the same month in the last three years, according to the report shared by SDMC.’

A total of 1,072 circumstances and one demise had been reported in 2020, the report mentioned. In September 2020, total 188 dengue circumstances had been reported whereas in September 2019, total 190 circumstances had been reported as per the SDMC knowledge.

Dengue season begins post-monsoon and stays until the onset of winter. SDMC is the nodal company for knowledge on vector-borne ailments within the metropolis.
