France’s EDF in talks with GE to purchase nuclear turbine ops

French electrical energy large EDF is in talks with General Electric to purchase its steam turbine enterprise for nuclear crops, the businesses confirmed Wednesday, the most recent transfer by the American conglomerate to streamline its operations and minimize debt.

The discussions had not too long ago been reported within the press on each side of the Atlantic, and each corporations informed AFP there was no assure they’d result in a deal.
