Two mountain lion kittens that survived after a litter of 4 was discovered beneath a picnic desk are being cared for at a Southern California veterinary hospital, officers stated.
The 4 tiny cats estimated to be about six weeks previous had been noticed Nov. 29 exterior an workplace constructing close to foothills within the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks, based on a statement Thursday from the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
After the mom by no means confirmed up, biologists with the state’s wildlife company gave the kittens a checkup and outfitted them with small radio collars. The biologists then set the kittens up in a makeshift den monitored by cameras, within the hopes that the mom was returning at night time.
Officials quickly decided the mom had both died or deserted the litter.
Two of the kittens had been discovered useless early on Dec. 2, and biologists took the opposite two to a veterinary hospital in Orange County, the assertion stated.
